This garage was a breath of fresh air. The service was first class and work carried out was brilliant. I had a quote from another garage for repairs for a failed mot. First Drive identified the correct work required, repaired it and did the mot for less than the previous quote and did the work in one day. Simply cannot recommend this garage enough for good honest and friendly service!

I was a very long way from home (Yorkshire) and my car's engine was overheating badly. I was in a very difficult situation, as I had only three days for any repair. I needed to get home so I could return to work after a short break. This garage arranged for a tow truck, investigated the cause of the overheating really thoroughly and repaired the fault. It was a blocked radiator and they replaced that and the thermostat. Not only that but they also found that the handbrake caliper had seized and a wheel bearing had also gone during my long journey. I had realised that something was wrong with the suspension and the handbrake while travelling but had not mentioned it to the garage. They really saved me from a crisis as I had been told that the cylinder head gasket had probably gone and that the car was not worth repairing. It was only their perseverence in finding the fault that enabled me to still have a car to get back home in.

I first started using this garage after it was recommended to me by a car salesman I know. The owner Paul is always on hand to explain what needs done, why it needs done and runs through any options that are available in a manner easy to understand for even the least mechanical minded person to understand. I asked him to service my girlfriends mini a few months back. When we picked it up he said it looked like it had not been serviced for a while, needless to say it had. Clearly she had been wasting her money in the past. The car does run better now firstdrive are servicing it. To me this is a fantastic garage which offers excellent value for money especially when you consider what the main dealers charge for a two bit con of a garage experience. I would have no hesitation to recommend this garage to anyone with any car. And most of all it is the only garage I feel I can trust.

I had been using Paul and Kate's garage for many years and have just returned after having owned newer cars for a while and the service they provide is still second to none. Paul carried out an MOT on my car and he sourced several prices of tyres which were needed for my car. Had I gone to Kwik Fit (or the likes) they would have provided me with the highest possible quote they could have. Paul gave me options.

I would recommend this garage unreservedly. Honest, professional and friendly. Half the work I thought was required they told me was not, therefore half the bill. It's why I use this garage, I can trust them.

Firstdrive are just what everyone needs. A family run business who can be trusted to do professional work. They pride themselves in only doing the work that is essential and don't con the customer by loading things onto the bill that are not essential. They are happy to explain and discuss everything that has been done or needs doing. They are a bit off the beaten track and rely on word of mouth to spread their reputation so that folks will be willing to drive that bit further to use them. All of my family and neighbours use them and I have never heard anything but praise.

Drive through Aberdeen (ignore all garages en route) out the other end and then carry on another 15+ miles south until i reach this garage). quality is worth a drive :)

this was the third garage id put my car to and im delighted to say i,ve found the garage i can trust for one and 2nd a garage i know is going to do a top job to my car .it honestly feels like a new car and wasnt expensive for wat they did to my car 5 stars in my book

I needed winter tyres fitted to my Freelander and so e-mailed Firstdrive asking for some information and prices. I received a list of different possible tyres together with their costs, allowing me to choose anything ranging from cheap and cheerful up to very expensive. I chose the tyres and booked the car in. But then I noticed some noise coming from the brakes. I then called the garage and they brought the appointment forward so that I could get the brakes checked as soon as possible. They even managed to arrange a loan car at short notice. So I had the tyres fitted as agreed but also the brakes stripped, cleaned and checked. A level of customer service that I have never had at a garage before.

Used this garage after a friend recommended them. Been using them now for around 2 years for repairs, services and MOT's. Always recieved good service and value for money. One instance which has cemented by trust is that my Vectra's ABS warning light was on. Put it to another garage and was told it would cost a minimum of £200 for replacement parts, labour etc. Decided to put the Vectra to First Drive who identified a broken wire as the problem. The repair cost me £60. Need I say more.

I find the helpful nature of the garage very reassuring. I feel confident that the work will be done quickly and efficiently. Also The hourly labour price is reasonable and competitive. I have used First Drive on a number of occassions and will continue to do so.

I would highly recommend Firstdrive to any one of my family or friends. My MOT had already run out, so I urgently needed an appointment. I called Firstdrive and was told they could see my car the follwoing day. It only took them only a day to fix, which was great as I can't do without my car for long.

The owners and staff have always been friendly, helpful and given me good advice when I have discussed the service or repair requirements on my vehicles. Considering I was only having a couple of items adjusted / replaced the mechanic (Paul) was very good at explaining what was wrong and what the potential costs may be. Labour costs although high £39 + vat were kept to a minimum and I was only charged for 1 hour. I would definately use again

I've used FirstDrive for our 3 vehicles since they started. All of the vehicles are reasonably old and so we do get them serviced regularly. Over the last 5 years I have used FirstDrive exclusively and been very happy with the outcomes - even when sometimes the bill hurts - but then the pile of worn parts pretty much justifies that!

Good local garage that will go out of their way to get your car back up and running, even if that means working a little bit later. Good friendly, knowledgeable staff. Take biscuits or cakes, everyone needs a treat.
